Hello 2016!

Hello 2016!

Thank you all for an amazing 2015!

After a busy holiday season, we are taking a minute to reflect back on the year and wanted to share our gratitude with you all! We realize that we had many successes, picked ourselves up during our struggles, and drank more coffee than we'd like to admit. Shout out to Tim Horton's, Java Moose, Second Cup, and all the random gas stations for all of the caffeine throughout the year :) We thought we'd give you all a "highlight reel" of the things you helped us accomplish and the things that are most memorable. We couldn't have done any of the following without all of you so...here goes....(drum roll.......)

- We were thrilled to receive an ECMA nomination for folk/roots album of the year and get to travel to St. John's Newfoundland. Yes, we got screeched in while in Newfoundland :)

- We still can't believe we got a whopping SIX Music/Musique New Brunswick nominations and took home THREE wins for group recording of the year, folk artist of the year, and SOCAN Song of the Year. The whole weekend was so positive and it was very apparent how our province is oozing with talent as well as support for said talent oozing.

- One of the best parts of being a musician – all the music! We got so inspired by sharing stages with fellow musicians and friends like The Backyard Devils, Old Man Leudecke, Coco Love AlcornIan Sherwood, Ashley Condon, Breabach, and Kat McLevey. Have you all heard all of them? You need to. Like...since you're making new years resolutions, right?

- We had a busy summer too. Summer = festival season! Thank you to everyone that included us in your line ups! Shout outs to In the Dead of Winter, Festival of Small Halls, Harvest Jazz and Blues, Neely G, and Larlee Creek Hullabaloo! Thank you for having us!

- When Jeff Reilly (producer of East Coast Music Hour) invited us to host the show for two weeks while David Myles was on tour, we pinched ourselves! Thank you so much for tuning in.

- We got to be on TV – twice! Before heading to St. John's, we were guests on CTV Atlantic Morning Live and while in NL, we filmed for CBC's Heavy Weather Volume 4, which featured Maritime artists. That whole experience was amazing. It takes so many people to make tv stuff happen. And all of those people were seriously amazing.

- We played over 60 shows and showcases that took us to all the Atlantic provinces from Saint Andrews, NB to St. Johns, Newfoundland and everywhere in between. We flew on airplanes, drove all over Eastern Canada, took a ferry, and had a tour in Nova Scotia. To all of those who attended or supported our shows – thank you!!!

- Porchlight Studios has been busy too! John recorded/produced some amazing bands throughout the year including: Earthbound Trio, Mike Biggar, and Leo Lefleur.

Cheers to making even more music in 2016! We are currently working on our upcoming album to be released THIS spring! We got to preview all of the new music live at a sold out house concert right here in our studio and can't wait to get the album into your hands.
Extra hugs to our manager, Chuck Teed, and John's parents - Debbie and Wayne. It really does take a village. Go team!

So that's a wrap for 2015! Check out our Tour page to see where we're headed next...shows have been announced in New Brunswick, Halifax, PEI, and Quebec! Hope to connect and cross paths with you all in the coming months! Thank you again for all of your support. It means the world.

Much love,

John & Lisa

Music NB Festival 506 has come and gone and we have very full hearts! What an inspiring weekend full of many of our province’s greatest talents! We accepted awards for Folk Artist of the Year, SOCAN Song of the Year, and Group Recording of the Year! We are so grateful for the recognition and support.

We are getting ready to hunker down in our studio this December and start the recording process for our second album that will be out this spring. We are happy to announce that New Brunswick’s own fiddle and mandolin master, Ray Legere, will be joining us again, along with Remi Arsenault and Dillon Robichaud from Moncton’s, The Backyard Devils! Check out their music here: http://www.thebackyarddevils.com

On another note…have you ever wanted us to perform in your living room? Do you host house concerts? We would LOVE to come and give your guests an intimate performance of our music, share the stories behind the songs, and maybe even give a little washboard or songwriting workshop if folks are interested! To get in touch about booking, give Chuck Teed a shout at tomatotomatosj@gmail.com

Lastly - HUGE NEWS! *ahem, throat clearing* we hope you’ll tune in to CBC’s East Coast Music Hour on October 31st and November 7th as we will be hosting while David Myles is on tour! We are more than excited about this opportunity! We will be spinning amazing tunes for you all and getting our best radio voices on. Be sure to listen!

Hope you are all enjoying the vibrancy of fall!
Much love,
John & Lisa

Festival Season is Upon Us!

Well if it seems like after ECMA week we took a two month nap, we didn't! Before we get into current events, we have to say how amazing our time was in Newfoundland. Everything we experienced from showcasing to networking, kissing the cod and taking in amazing shows...was absolutely fantastic. We couldn't be more grateful and happy with how our time was spent there. What a great week of reconnecting with fellow musician friends and establishing new relationships.

The last two months have been spent solidifying our summer schedule which you can find in detail, here. We have been working on lots of new music and have even started thinking about our next album. We are debuting lots of new tunes at our summer shows so we hope to see you out and about in the next few months! As always, we will have our albums and t-shirts for sale.  We are also waiting for a large package of VINYL to arrive so we hope you like records! We have shows in PEI, Nova Scotia, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and right here in New Brunswick...be sure to come up and say hi!

Much love,
John & Lisa

Hello April!

April is certainly coming in like a lion for us! So many amazing opportunities are happening this month and we're so excited to share! We are headed to St. Johns, Newfoundland for East Coast Music Week (ECMW) and will be performing at two showcases – the Warner Music Canada Roots Room and the RBC Breakout Stage. While on “The Rock” we will also be doing a radio spot for CBC “On the Go”. Check our tour page for deets. AND to kick off the whole experience – we'll be live on Thursday morning (the 9th) for CTV in Halifax before catching our flight! Turn on your tv's and set your PVR's for between 7:30-8am :)

Thank you to all who came out to our sold out show at the end of March in Saint John. We would never be able to do what we do without all of the love from our Renaissance City <3

Newfoundland – here we come! #ECMW2015

March update

March update

Spring is in the air and we can feel it! Last month ended with an honour from Saint John Faces of Fusion. We were chosen as the winner for the arts/culture award! It was a wonderful evening and we are so grateful for the support and recognition.

We've been in creative-mode and have a bunch of new music we are ready to share. We are still busy promoting our album but we are constantly writing and arranging new originals. One of our tunes to debut is actually inspired by the Bill Murray movie, “What About Bob?” … tell us that doesn't pique your curiosity! You can catch us this month at our ECMA Celebration Show in uptown Saint John, March 20 th at the Water Street Dinner Theatre. It starts at 8pm with a set by the ever-so-talented, Hilary Branch. Tickets are now available! We also have a show on March 28th at Parkindale Hall outside of Petitcodiac, NB.

In addition to our touring schedule, we are so excited to be teaming up with local hops growers, hippie musicians, and Galaxie Rising Star winners, Earthbound Trio as they get ready to record their new album. They will be recording here at Porchlight Studios with John on studio engineering and production. Check them out here: http://www.earthboundtrio.ca/ And we thought this was a quiet month! Hope to see you at one of our live shows!

Much love,
John & Lisa
